Programming natural structures

Köln International School of Design, Jul.2014

A research project for investigating structures found in nature. With the help of Rhino Script and Grasshopper, I researched structural and packing problem in nature. Though the structures in nature are extremely complex, they are often build upon simple physical principles. Therefore it is possible to "imitate" those structures in programming language.
As application for these structures I have designed some cable binding structures.

Following videos show some generating process.
